The Nantucket Dreamland will once again present The Fred Rogers Good Neighbor Award at our upcoming July 28th DreamBIG Event. The Fred Rogers Good Neighbor Award was created to recognize the outstanding contributions of an individual who has gone above and beyond in their efforts to make Nantucket a better place through their time, talents, and dedication to the community.

This award reflects our commitment to supporting and celebrating those who make a positive impact this community. For generations of people, the late Fred Rogers exemplified what it meant to be a good neighbor. With the blessing of his family, this namesake award will honor individuals in our community who are keeping Mister Rogers’ legacy of kindness, humility, and generosity alive on Nantucket.
– Alicia L. Carney, Executive Director

The Dreamland invites members of the community to nominate candidates for The Fred Rogers Good Neighbor Award. Nominees can be any resident of Nantucket who has consistently demonstrated qualities of compassion and service to the community through volunteer activities. The recipient will be chosen by a committee composed of Dreamland board members and community leaders. More information about the eligibility and criteria is available on the Dreamland’s website, including a link to the nominee submission survey.

The Dreamland’s annual DreamBIG fundraiser on July 28th raises critical funds to support the operation of Dreamland year-round, and directly funds live event programming, Dreamland Stage Company, educational programming, and community partnerships and initiatives.

Nominations for “The Fred Rogers Good Neighbor Award” will be accepted until May 26th and the award recipient will be announced by June 13th.
