Missoula Children’s Theatre brings Beauty Lou and the Country Beast to Nantucket Dreamland
March 2–7 • Free to Nantucket families

Overview

The Nantucket Dreamland is proud to host the Missoula Children’s Theatre, the nation’s largest touring children’s theatre organization, for a free, week-long musical theatre residency for Nantucket students.

In just five days, students in grades 1–12 will audition, rehearse, and perform a full musical production of Beauty Lou and the Country Beast on the Dreamland stage — working alongside professional touring directors in a fun, supportive environment.

Rehearsal & Performance Schedule

Students selected for the cast must be able to commit to the full rehearsal and performance schedule.

  • Audition & first rehearsal: Monday, March 2 at 3:00 PM
  • First Rehearsal: Monday, March 2 at 5:15 PM
  • Rehearsals: Tuesday–Friday, March 3- March 6th
    • 3:00–5:00 PM
    • 5:15–7:15 PM
  • Cast Party/Workshop: Friday, March 6 after Dress Rehearsal
  • Performances: Saturday, March 7 at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM

Commitment is Key: Participating students must commit to the full rehearsal and performance schedule for the week. While not all cast members will be needed at every session, attendance is mandatory for all scheduled rehearsals required for your specific role. A detailed schedule will be provided immediately following the audition.

Fueling the Fun: Cast members scheduled for both rehearsal periods in the same day the full 4 hours and 15 minutes will have a 15-minute break between sessions. Please bring a sack lunch, dinner, or snack to enjoy during this time. (Please note we will allow students to leave early to participate in that week’s band concert)
