This isn’t just a summer camp. It’s a full-scale theatre experience where your performer helps build a real, professional production from the very first rehearsal to the final bow!

MORE THAN JUST A SHOW:
By spending four weeks immersed in the production process, students gain a hands-on education in the performing arts. Whether cast as an actor, serving as an assistant producer, or working in stage craft, every student engages in project-based learning that builds real skills:
– Theatrical Craft: Voice projection, choreography, and professional blocking.
– Technical Skills: Costuming, stage management, and set design for students interested in behind-the-scenes roles.
– Cognitive Growth: Learning lines and music enhances memory, reading fluency, and language processing.
– Confidence & Resilience: Five public performances build self-assurance that extends well beyond the stage.
– Empathy & Inclusion: Portraying characters like Nemo and Gill teaches students to celebrate diversity and acceptance.
– A Sense of Belonging: An unplugged, supportive environment where students connect through shared creative goals.
FINDING NEMO JR. TECHNICAL TRACK PROGRAM:
Ever wondered how a script transforms from words on a page into a breathtaking live performance? This summer,
alongside our production of Finding Nemo Jr., the Dreamland Stage is opening the stage door for the next
generation of theatre makers!
The Technical Track offers a hands-on, all-access pass to the backstage world. We are casting just 6 passionate
students ages 10 and up to step into vital leadership and production roles, working directly alongside our
professional creative team. No prior experience needed, just curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to work as a
team. Students walk away with real-world leadership skills, a deeper understanding of how a major production gets built,
and their own completed show management book to kickstart their theatrical portfolio.
What Technical Track Students Do:
- Build their own Director’s Book and production management bible for the show
- Step into leadership roles: Assistant Director, Producer, or Stage Manager
- Operate the light board and sound board alongside industry professionals
- Design and build props and scenery for Bikini Bottom
- Learn theatrical painting techniques and costume design
- Sit in on production meetings and observe how a director adapts a script for the stage
Disney’s Finding Nemo JR. is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI), with all authorized performance materials supplied by MTI (www.MTIShows.com).
